The Gauteng Provincial Government, through the Office of the Premier and the mandate of Gauteng Department of Social Development (GDSD), remains committed to promoting a people-centred and participatory approach to development that ensures the meaningful inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in decision-making processes. This commitment is demonstrated through the establishment and support of the Gauteng Disability Sector Leadership under the United Disability Sector (UDS), formerly known as United Disability Sustainability. UDS will serves as a representative structure that brings together disability organisations, sector leaders, and advocates to strengthen collaboration, coordinated advocacy, and strategic engagement with the Gauteng Provincial Government. UDS will provide a platform for identifying, discussing, and addressing policy, programme, and service delivery matters affecting Persons with Disabilities. It will promotes collective leadership, accountability, information sharing, and coordinated responses to challenges experienced across the disability sector.
